On January 7, Invincea researchers have announced that the popular DailyMotion video sharing site is being used to distribute fake antivirus programs using specially formulated ads.
Researchers informed the company about the issue, which one month after, has not confirmed that it has received the initial report, while the problem remains.
According to experts, Dailymotion users are redirected through the service to a specially configured website used to distribute Fake AV. when the malware install them on the computers of the victims, inform them that they are infected with malware, and ask them to pay a specific amount of money to get rid of it.
