WhatsApp: You will hear voice messages outside of chat threads

WhatsApp has released a new feature to beta users that adds the ability to continue listening to a voice message after exiting the received chat thread.

WhatsApp has been working on a global voice note player program for a long time to allow users to listen to voice messages in the background while navigating the application.

Currently, if you play a voice message and then exit the chat thread where the message was received, playback stops. The idea is to allow playback to continue so that you can still hear large voice messages while composing and reading other messages.

In the latest beta, if you play a voice message and then go to the WhatsApp home screen or a different chat thread, a new voice message playback interface appears at the top of the app with buttons to pause, resume, or reject the note, along with a progress bar.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature has been released in some iOS testers of WhatsApp Beta and WhatsApp Business Beta, but not all, so if you can not hear the voicemails when leaving a chat, sit back and wait for the next beta update when it should be released more fully.

It is not known when the global voice memo player will become mainstream, but as the feature is now available to both Android and iOS in beta, it won't be long.
