How to upload files and folders to Google Drive?

Each Google Account comes with 15 GB of free storage on Google Drive. You can take advantage of this cloud storage uploading files and folders, either from your desktop or mobile device. Here's how you can do it:

Supported file types in Google Drive

Google Drive supports all file types. This means that you can upload any file from your computer or phone to the cloud. However, there are limits to file sizes. You can see the full list of supported file types and sizes on the Google Drive Help page.

How to upload files to Drive

To add files to the Google Drive account from computer you should use site of Driνe. But if you have mobile device, such as iPhone, iPad or Android, you should use free application Drine.

Desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux, Chromebook): How to upload files to Google drive;

To start uploading files to Google Drive, open one browser on your computer and then open the Google Drive site. Sign in using your Google account.

Once connected, open it envelope to which you want to add files. From the left sidebar, select New> File Upload.

A window will open. From this window, select the file or files that you want to upload to the cloud. Then click on “Open".

In the lower right corner of the Google Drive website, you will see a dialog box “Uploading X Items”(Where“ X ”is the number of files you upload). This section will display a green mark next to the successfully uploaded files.

You can use other tabs during this process, but do not close this tab or your browser window until the files have been uploaded. When the process is complete, the files will be available in your Google Drive account. You can access these files from any of your compatible devices and share them with friends and colleagues.

Mobile (iPhone, iPad or Android): How to upload files to Drive?

To upload files from your iPhone, iPad, or Android device to Google Drive, open it application.

In the Drine application, open it envelope to which you want to add new files. Then, in the lower right corner of the application, click on the symbol “+".

A menu opens "Create New”And press“Upload".

Your phone's file manager will open. Select the file or files you want to upload to Google Drive. You can upload multiple files at once.

The Drine app will start uploading the selected files to your account.

Upload folders to Google Drive

As we said above, you can also upload entire folders from your computer to Google Drive. Unfortunately, you can not do this on mobile devices.

To get started, you need to open the Google Drive site and open the folder to which you want to add your folder.

From the left sidebar of Google Drine, select New> Folder Upload.

A window will open on your computer. In this window, select a folder to upload to Google Drive.

Drine will upload your folder and all its contents.

Upload files and folders to Google Drive with the method drag and drop

On the desktop, a quick and easy way to upload files and folders to Google Drive is to use the Drag and Drop method.

Open Google Drive in a browser. Navigate to the folder where you want to upload files.

Open your computer's file manager to select the files and folders you want to upload to Google Drive. Use File Explorer on Windows the Finder on Mac, the Files app on Chromebook or the file manager you prefer in Linux. In these tools, find the folder or files you want to upload. Then drag the files to the Google Drive site and leave them there.

Google Drive will upload all the data you have dragged to your cloud storage.
