All new information is provided through PlayStation Blog, in which the company behind Vanguard, Sledgehammer offers details in support of the game's PS5 DualSense wireless controller, along with a look at four Operators, with introductory trailers for each.

Two of the Operators are the paratrooper Arthur Kingsley and the sniper Polina Petrova, can play in Vanguard multiplayer and multiplayer modes, but Sledgehammer has also now revealed two new multiplayer characters, Daniel Take Yatsu and Padmavati Balan, saying a few things about everyone.

The most practical information is provided in Sledgehammer's second post on the PlayStation Blog, which describes how Call of Duty: Vanguard will leverage the tactile feedback and adaptive actions of the PlayStation 5 DualSense wireless controller.

Sledgehammer says her goal when using DualSense is to "simulate the weight of a gun trigger in the real world" and there are several steps to pulling a trigger on Vanguard. The "take-up" is the distance that a trigger travels as soon as the player starts pressing it. The "break" is the point at which a shot is fired when the correct pressure is exerted. "Over-travel" is how far the trigger pulls after the stopping point and finally there is the "trigger reset", which stops the automatic firing and resumes the break.

«It is in the "break" stage that the DualSense controller adaptive triggers apply various degrees of feedback to help create a sense of weight on the trigger.", Explains Sledgehammer. «This feedback is applied differently to different weapons, creating a more accurate sense of trigger weight for each. For example, if you use a 1911 side gun, you will feel a moderate intensity as soon as you reach the break point, but it will not weigh as much as the M1 Garand sniper rifle.».

«DualSense controller feedback not only affects the trigger on the Vanguard", Continues Sledgehammer,"but also the range trigger, which means that the detection speed and weight of the L2 trigger change depending on the weapon you use. For example, heavy weapons will make you feel heavy, lighter weapons will feel lighter and lighter. In addition, the attachments you have in your weapon will play a role in this as well, so it is a factor that you need to consider as you make your choices.»
