London, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco really shine in the updated Apple Maps app.
With iOS 15 released earlier this month, these cities have received a XNUMXD update with major landmarks that have been digitally refurbished in vivid, striking detail. Coit Tower, Dodger Stadium, the Statue of Liberty and the Royal Albert Hall are some of the highlights. locations almost jumping off the screen.
At night these structures (and others) shine on the iPhone screen. Below, the Statue of Liberty is illuminated with a dark night background.
It's not just the famous views with XNUMXD editing. Other parts of cities are displayed in similar realistic detail, such as city centers, marinas, waterfronts, and everyday office buildings.
Later in the year, 3D projections will be expanded to Washington, Philadelphia and San Diego. Next year Canada will have its honorary with the most detailed map coming in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.
The new look in Apple Maps is available with the iOS 15 update. When you use the app for driving directions, the details of the road with the new XNUMXD look are also live.
