Why use a VPN program for Netflix?

VPN is an important part of Internet protection and can help overcome censorship issues in countries like China. However, one of the most important reasons why people use VPNs is to overcome peripheral content restrictions, especially the vast Netflix peripheral libraries.

The ExpressVPN is the best VPN to overcome Netflix limitations, although Netflix made an update in 2021 for better VPN detection and blocking.

Depending on your country, Netflix shows and movies are different. The United States, for example, has the largest library to date, with shows that many people in Europe have not even heard of.

It seems silly that some shows may be shown in one country and not another, but that's because of Netflix's wide range of distribution deals with the creators of those shows and movies.

However, there is a very simple way to overcome these limitations by using a VPN. A virtual private network is a service that routes your Internet connection through one of its servers, allowing you to stay hidden.

This means that instead of your own IP address it changes to that of the VPN server. Therefore, if you are in Canada and want to watch German Netflix, you can simply connect to a VPN server in Germany.

Netflix of course does not want you to do this and has set up a system to exclude you. It's a bit unclear exactly why Netflix started blocking VPN users, but the most likely reason is that distributors realized that many people were breaking Netflix peripheral restrictions and so they pushed the company to create some kind of VPN blockchain.

Note that it is not just Netflix that has a similar block, since Hulu, the Amazon Prime, the Disney + and many other entertainment channels block VPNs.
