Windows 11: How to open them or restart in Safe Mode?

If you are already using Windows 11 and you are having problems, one solution could be running on Safe Mode. Essentially Safe Mode is a state of Windows, where only core system files are used.

See below how you can open and use Windows 11 in Safe Mode from Settings:

1. Open the application Settings from the Start menu.

2. Select the tab System, scroll down to open the tab Recovery.

3. On the Recovery page, you will see an option called Advanced Startup. Click the button restart, along with the option to continue.

4. It will reboot and you will have many options on your screen. Select Troubleshoot.

5. Then select Advanced options> Startup Settings.

6. Click on Restart. After that, you will be given some options to choose from. Press the Function key associated with Safe Mode in the list. E.g. press F4 to start in Safe Mode.

How can you open and use Windows 11 in Safe Mode from the Start menu?

Alternatively, you can select Safe Mode going directly to the Advanced Startup options, avoiding the process of opening the Settings.

1. To get started, open the menu Start.

2. Click on Power Button, which includes options such as restart, shutdown, suspend.

3. Then hold down Shift key, click Restart.

4. It will reboot and you will see many options on your screen. Select Troubleshoot.

5. Then select Advanced options> Startup Settings.

6. Click on Restart. After that, you will be given options to choose from. Press the Function key associated with Safe Mode e.g. press F4 to start in safe mode.

Your computer will now start in Safe Mode.

How to disable Safe Mode in Windows 11?

To exit Safe Mode, follow the procedure below:

1. First, click on the menu “Start".

2. Then click on power button.

3. Finally, click on Restart.

When the computer restarts, it will run normally without being in Safe Mode.
