WhatsApp: You may receive a call to verify your account

If you've been using the WhatsApp app for a long time, you may know that when you purchase a new phone and reset your account, the app verifies it by sending a six-digit code via SMS. However, the company is now working on another method to verify your account. The so-called flash calls.

According to a report by the trustee BetaInfo, the chat app is testing this feature for Android devices. The way it will work will be to allow the user to choose if he wants to receive a call for verification instead of an SMS code. WhatsApp will call you for a while and end the call. You do not have to answer this call.

Even when this feature is available, it will be restricted to Android, as iOS does not allow apps to read call history. WABetaInfo said that while the app will have access to the call log to compare the latest entry, it will not use data for everything else.

Instagram is also testing a feature for receiving verification codes via WhatsApp instead of SMS.

This new development comes after a week that was particularly active for the popular application. The company has confirmed that it is testing the ability to use one account on multiple devices and will allow users to connect up to four devices to this feature. This means that you will soon be able to use the chat app on your iPad as well.

In addition, WhatsApp has launched a switch to speed up voice message playback.
