When the moon rises, let alone when it has a full moon, many want to capture it by taking pictures with their mobile phone. Unfortunately, it is difficult to get good photos of the moon. This happens for two reasons: i) because it 's too far away and if you do not have a telephoto lens (which it does moon to appear closer than it is), will always appear as a very small dot in the box, and ii) because taking pictures at night is generally a difficult affair.
Can you use your smartphone camera?
The short answer is "Yes", but it would be good to download an application and take photos of the moon through it, instead of using the camera on your iPhone or Android. Some applications allow you to increase the sensitivity by allowing you to shoot in low light.
Another thing you could do is make sure there is something else in the picture - so you can capture the moon as it passes, say, a beautiful bridge or a mountain. This allows you to have a different perspective on the size of the moon, while creating a more interesting image.

But even with these applications the result may not leave you satisfied.
To take a great photo of the moon, you need a telephoto lens or zoom lens. In addition to a professional camera and tripod, try using a release cable or a two-second delay timer to release the shutter. This prevents the camera from shaking when you press the button. It allows you not only to increase the size of the moon in the frame, but also to keep all the details inside it, while keeping the image as strong as possible.
Your settings will change depending on the quality of the camera you are using. But the ISO should be set to 100, which keeps the image quality to a maximum. Next, set your file type to RAW - this allows for the largest file size your camera has.
Finally, when it comes to aperture, this is not so important when shooting the moon, so aim around f8.
