Sony may not be one of the top smartphone brands in the world, but the company is still making some very good quality phones. More importantly, despite low sales and stiff competition, the company still insists - unlike LG, which is leaving the smartphone business forever.
Instead of competing with Samsung and Xiaomi in every market and in every possible price range, the Japanese smartphone maker has changed its focus to key markets and only releases premium phones. The company's latest flagship, the Xperia 1 II, was released last February. We have been hearing rumors about Sony's next flagship since January and it looks like it will be with us shortly.
Sony has updated the banner on its YouTube channel, which confirms an Xperia product announcement to be made later this month. The online launch event is scheduled for April 14 and will start at 16:30 JST and 9:30 CEST. The event will be broadcast live on the channel at YouTube the company's. Although Sony has not officially confirmed what will be released at this event, it is rumored that the company will unveil the Xperia 1 III and Xperia 10 III.
According to the famous leaker Zibkbucks, the Sony Xperia 1 III will feature a 4-inch 6,5K HDR OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz, chipset Snapdragon 888, a system with three cameras with the primary being 64MP, ultra-wide 12MP camera and periscope lens with zoom capabilities, 12 GB RAM, 5.000 mAh battery and support for fast 65W charging.
We do not know much about the Xperia 10 III, however, a leak from Steve Hemmerstoffer revealed that the device could have a 6,0-inch flat screen, triple camera system, dual speakers, 3,5 mm slot and a side fingerprint scanner.
