Η Tesla is going to reveal one soon updated version of Cybertruck, and Elon Musk decided to give a small tip at the urging of a Twitter user.
The electric vehicle company introduced the Cybertruck in November 2019, but the vehicle will not appear on the market until the end of 2021.
Most car manufacturers revealing prototype vehicles, make many changes to later production versions. However, Tesla tends to bring to market vehicles that are very similar to their original ideas.
This does not mean that they are not made amendments during the production process, since the company aims at improvements. This also seems to be the case with Cybertruck.
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, has reported some changes since November 2019. It had even been said that a design change could be made to make Cybertruck a little smaller, but Musk overturned that design after a design review in May 2020.
However, some changes in design and dimensions are expected.
The unveiling of the updated version of Cybertruck was scheduled for late last year, but has been delayed. A few days ago, Musk said he probably would presented in the next quarter.
Yesterday, however, the CEO was asked to provide information about the Tesla Cybertruck update and he replied:
Apparently, the new Cybertruck will not be equipped with door handles.
The original Cybertruck prototype was equipped with the same handles as the original Model S.
While driving, they remain in the "body of the vehicle", but appear when someone holding the key approaches the vehicle or when someone presses the handle when the vehicle is unlocked.
It is unknown at this time what Tesla intends to do with the handles, but the company is working on automatic door opening and closing as early as 2015. Such technology can technically completely replace the door handles.
