The Google Maps application offers many features to users such as important landmarks in the vicinity. If you want to save your own suggestions on Google Maps to make them easier to find in the future, you can do so by adding private tags.
Add a private tag to the Google Maps app
To add a new private tag, open the Google Maps app on your mobile device and search for the location you want to save using the search bar. Click the result when it appears in the list.
Alternatively, tap and hold anywhere on the map when the map opens.
This will display an information carousel at the bottom. Click the site name to see the full info box.
In the info panel, click "Tag".
If this is not visible, click the menu icon with the three dots in the upper right corner and then select “Add a tagFrom the drop-down menu.
In the menu "Add a tag", Give a label name to the box"Enter a tag“. You can also click on one of the automatically generated sentences (such as "Home" or "Work") from the list "Suggestions”Provided.
To add it as a tag, click the "Add tag" option shown below.
Once added, you will be able to search for the tag specifically in application Google Maps. The label will appear above the place names in the map view and information panel.
Edit or remove a private tag in Google Maps
To edit or remove a private tag in Google Maps, search for the tag using the search bar. Then tap the location on the information carousel at the bottom.
In the location information panel, click “Tagged“. This will be displayed as “TagIn some areas.
From here, you can edit or remove your private label. To edit it, change the text of the label and then press “Tag update" underneath.
To delete the tag, press “AbolitionIn the upper right corner. Once you remove a tag, you will need to use the name or location address to search for it in the future.
