Apple plans to release two new MacBook Pro models in the second half of 2021 that will be equipped with an HDMI port and an SD card reader, says analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who described his expectations in a research note received by MacRumors. The return of an SD card reader was reported for first by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg last month.

"We anticipate that Apple's two new MacBook Pro models will released "In the second half of 2012 they will have a lot of significant changes in their design and specifications," said Ming-Chi Kuo. “Some of the practical changes for users is that the new models will be equipped with an SD card reader and an HDMI port. ”
Last month, Kuo announced that Apple was planning the brand new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with several changes, including the return of the classic charging plug MagSafe, the removal of the Touch Bar, a new flat-edged design and the return of more doors that will integrated to portable computers for extended connectivity. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman echoed many of these details in his reports.
Kuo says Taiwan-based Genesys Logic will be the sole supplier of the card reader SD on MacBook Pro 2021 models.
