The least you can do to protect your Android device is to download and install an antivirus. But what are the best on the market?
This is a difficult question. It's difficult because testing security applications means you are testing for existing vulnerabilities, which does not tell you how well antivirus will handle future vulnerabilities. Another issue is that it is impossible to estimate the kind of performance that antivirus will have on thousands of devices out there. So what we suggest is to try more than one.
Before proceeding to the article, we should warn you that there are many fake security applications in market. In addition, there are those antiviruses that do absolutely nothing. What we recommend - whether you choose something from our list or not - is not to get away from the big antivirus companies that have respectively programs and for computers.
See below our list of recommended security applications. The list has three free apps and one paid app. (Antivirus names are the official ones.)
Sophos Intercept X for Mobile (Price: Free)
Why we like it: It has no ads! This is rare when it comes to free security applications. It is not as impressive as some others applications, but has scored amazing results in tests AV-TEST and does a very good job.
Kaspersky Antivirus for Android (Price: Free)
Why we like this antivirus: It is a reliable, easy-to-use application. Displays ads, but not particularly annoying.
Avast Mobile Security (Price: Free)
Why we like it: Another app that does a good job. Again, it displays ads, but we did not find them annoying. It also has features like "Boost RAM" with which you can do them tests you.
Bitdefender Mobile Security & Antivirus (Price: $ 14,99 for the first year)
Why we like it: Provides you with great protection against malware with the least impact on system performance (as tested by AV-TEST).
We hope we have helped you choose the best antivirus for your Android device!
