Apple may be a little behind in the field of folding phones, but the company has not completely abandoned the idea.
According to the store Taiwan Daily Economic News (via MacRumors), two different foldable phone prototypes have passed internal endurance tests at the Foxconn plant in Shenzhen, China.
Apple's idea to make a folding or device Dual screen is of course not something new. The company had filed a patent for such a phone in 2017 and a report in 2018, said Apple may be preparing to launch a foldable phone in 2020. That never happened, but 2020 was a very different year, with his pandemic Covid-19 to have gone back to the Apple device marketing program and affect sales.
But so is the leaker Jon prosser talked in June about one iPhone which will have a dual screen, with two panels that will be connected with a hinge. He said that while the phone screens are separate, they look "quite continuous and seamless" when expanded. A new patent, owned by Apple and discovered just last week, describes a device with a folding screen, where "the first and second parts of a housing for the device can be joined using a hinge."
The new report states that it is too early to say when Apple will release either of these two folding models, although rumors say that this will happen in late 2022 or 2023.
