Microsoft is investigating a recently discovered issue that causes deleted messages to reappear in the mail inbox of accounts.

"When attempting to sign in to, users may see various error messages indicating that the service was not available, as well as delays and timeouts that resulted in 503 errors," the company said.

The Microsoft investigation later found that the errors were caused by insufficient infrastructure and fixed it by rerouting traffic to an alternative infrastructure.
