REMnux 7.0: Released with modern malware analysis tools

After almost 5 years delay, Lenny Zelter, Creator of REMnux Linux, announced the release of the new version of the operating system. The new REMnux 7.0 comes with many changes and updates to the system packages, while it also contains many of the modern tools for malware analysis.

For those who do not know, REMnux is one Linux toolkit which was made almost 10 years ago, by developer Lenny Zelter. Providing users with many tools for reverse-engineering and malware analysis, the functional is suitable for scanning various files such as executables, scripts or other files that may contain some kind of virus.

What's new in REMnux 7.0?

New version operating system, you rely on Ubuntu 18.04 "Bionic Beaver", which contains the User Interface GNOME. In the new interface, users can find many up-to-date tools as well as modern applications that have been added to REMnux 7.0.

Another feature of the new version of REMnux is the SaltStack application. Using this tool, users can automate installation and updating the system software.

How to install the operating system:

Today, almost all modern operating systems are released as ISO files. However, REMnux does not come out as standard. If you want to download and install the operating system, you need to download an 'OVA' file, which is specially made for virtual machines. Next, you will need to install one application for virtual machines, so you can use REMnux.
