The management of OTE has announced for two years that the development plan of OTE includes the entry in the field of electronic payments, but also of online betting.
The Bank of Greece granted an operating license for an electronic money institution to OTE's subsidiary, "Cosmote Payments-Electronic Money Services SA".
The official publication of the decision in the Government Gazette is expected within the next few days, most likely even by the end of the week. The management of OTE has announced for two years that in OTE development plan is included the entry into the field of electronics payments, but also online betting (in cooperation with Intralot).
Cosmote Payments, which was founded in 2018, is the third licensed electronic money institution after Viva Payment Services SA and “Tora Wallet” controlled by OPAP.
