Microsoft recently announced that it is working on two features, called Vertical tabs (Vertical tabs) and Smart copy (Smart Copy).
Η Microsoft products claims the new ones possibilities will improve productivity. Let's take a closer look at the two new features of the Chromium-based Microsoft Edge.
The first feature is the Vertical tabs. The tabs will be moved from the tab bar to left part of the page and will appear in vertical layout. Unlike traditional tabular lines, the vertical tab line allows the so-called "Drag and drop", which enables users to easily organize their active tabs.
This feature is ideal for them users opening dozens of tabs. When you open many tabs, there is less space to see their names. This can confuse you, make you search for the card you want for a long time, or even accidentally close a tab.
"I find myself losing or accidentally closing a card. Extremely annoying, as this is usually the page I need ", said Liat Ben-Zur, Corporate VP of Microsoft products.
With the vertical tabs, you can find and manage multiple tabs at once, as you can scroll through the list and see the full names of the tabs without getting confused.
According to Liat Ben-Zur, the vertical tabs will initially be released on Insider channels (Canary, Dev and Beta), in the coming months.
You can install this extension both on Google Chrome as well as in Microsoft Edge. If you want to install Chrome extension in Edge, open the settings and enable the option to install third-party plugins. You can then install the extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Smart Copy Feature
Microsoft says that this feature will ensure that the part of the text that is pasted retains its format. For example, if you copy a table from a website and paste it into your email with the Smart copy feature, the table will retain its original format.
This feature will be released for testers in the coming months.
