Despite indications that 5G mobile networks, like previous cellular standards, are safe for the public, a large community of skeptics fear that they will cause - or already cause - health problems, including Coronau, but there is no evidence to prove this connection. The International Commission for the Protection of Non-Ionizing Radiation (ICNIRP), a German scientific body assessing the health risks of broadcasters, has called for new guidelines for millimeter waves of 5G technology.
Dr. Eric van Rongen, president of ICNIRP, said members of the organization are aware that a large percentage of the consumer public is concerned about the security provided by 5G technology, and they hope their new and up-to-date guidelines will help the public not to worry about this new technology. Its members ICNIRP point out that the guidelines for 5G mobile networks have been developed following a thorough review of the relevant scientific literature, scientific laboratories and an extensive public consultation process. They provide protection against any scientifically documented adverse effects that exposure to electromagnetic fields can have on health ranging from 100 kHz to 300 GHz.
According to Dr. Jack Rowley, Senior Director of Research and Sustainability at GSMA (Industry for Mobile Operators) networks), millimeter waves of 5G technology and other connections exceeding 6GHz seemed to be impossible in 1998. In addition, Rowley stated that most importantly, the baseline health risk assessment remained unchanged, with the thresholds being in 1998 they are still protected and respected today.
