In this short article you will see how easily you can install Google Chrome on the Kali Linux operating system. You'll see too some errors which may occur during installationAnd what are the ways to deal with them.
Note: To install, you'll need the SuperUser password or access from your admin account (root).
>> The symbol "# ” before the command states that you must have "root" permissions to run the command use the order
>> The "$" before the order dspeaks that you don't need pclockwise permissions to execute this command.
Use the wget command to download the latest package Debian of Google Chrome. To do this, open a Terminal and type:
# wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
The easiest way to install Google Chrome is to use gdebi which will download all the necessary packages. To install gdebi, open a Terminal, and then type the following command:
# apt install gdebi-core
Then install the debian package you downloaded earlier:
# gdebi google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
To start the program, first open a terminal and type:
$ google-chrome --no-sandbox
1. No SandBox: ERROR: zygote_host_impl_linux.cc (89)] Running as root without –no-sandbox is not supported.
The solution to avoid this problem is simply to run Google Chrome with a –no-sandbox extension, like the following:
# google-chrome -no-sandbox
2. Illegal Instruction: The message "illegal Instruction"Appears when you execute the google-chrome command as privileged root userς.
To deal with problem, you need to create one another privileged user For example: linuxconfig. To create another user, type:
# useradd -m -d / home / linuxconfig linuxconfig
Then go back to Google Chrome using the new linuxconfig user:
# su linuxconfig -c google-chrome
3. The package libappindicator1 is not installed: dpkg: dependency problems preventing google-chrome-stable configuration: google-chrome-stable depends on libappindicator1; however: Package libappindicator1 is not installed.
To avoid this problem, you must use gdebi for the installation, as we mentioned earlier.
