Apple blocks porn searches like "teens" and "asian"

It looks like the built-in parental control filter on the devices iPhone, it takes a little more practice to properly distinguish inappropriate searches. As observed, when the filter is on one device, blocking incorrectly as porn, searches that include keywords like "Asian" and "teen."

A user of the Twitter, named Charlie Stigler, found that he could do nothing search using the keyword “Asian”, such as “Asian food” or “Asian hairstyles”. As he himself commented, an entire culture has been essentially blocked by Apple and characterized as porn.

But in addition to words related to Asia, searches that include words like "teen" or "teen" are also blocked as porn as if they could be related to nothing but inappropriate content.

“Searches like 'teenage mental health resources' are also excluded because the word 'teenager' is blacklisted. Something that is totally stupid about a feature that might be used by TEENAGERS! ” Charlie Stigler wrote on Twitter.

Stigler discovered it when he tried to search for his iPhone 8 running iOS 13.3.1. However, the Softpedia confirmed that the same thing happens with the “iPhone 11 Pro which also runs the latest version iOS".

On the other hand, you may think that the word "Asians" is also blocked as porn by Apple, when you search. However, this is not the case because the word "Asians" is not included in Apple's "black list", although it is also often used to search for inappropriate content.

If you own one iPhone, you can check whether this is true by activating the function "Limited Access".

You can do this by going to option On-Screen Time> Content and Privacy Restrictions> Content Restrictions> Web Content.
