How to open XPS files on your computer?

XPSThe XPS files is the answer of Windows to the popular file type PDF. Windows computers have built-in program which allows them users to open archives XPS. However, users Poppy should convert files to PDF to be able to see them.

Let's see how to open these files on Windows or Mac computer (below each step, there are related pictures).


step 1: If necessary, add it XPS Viewer on your computer. The program is installed by default on computers with Windows 10, but you will need to reinstall it if you have deleted the optional ones functions.

  • Click 'Start' and then 'Settings'
  • Click Applications, then click Manage Optional Features.
  • Click "Add Feature" at the top of the page
  • Find and click on "XPS Viewer". Then, click Install
  • After the XPS Viewer is installed, restart the computer

Step 2: Find the XPS document by going to the place where the document you want to open (eg Documents etc).

XPSStep 3: Double-click the document. This way the document opens in application XPS Viewer.

Step 4: Wait for the document to open. The process may take a few seconds depending on the size of the document. Once the process is complete. you'll be able to see the document in the XPS Viewer window.

Alternatively, open the application from the beginning:

  • Click Start
  • Type xps viewer
  • Click on "XPS Viewer"

Step 1: Then click on the "File" at the top of the window. This will open a menu.

XPSStep 2: Click Open (the first menu option). This will open a new window where you can search and select the file you want to open.

Step 3: Select the part where the file is located on the left side of the window (eg Documents, Downloads, etc.), and then select the file. Click the "Open" button in the lower right corner of the window. This opens the file in the XPS Viewer program.


Step 1: Go to address at browser your. In fact, you cannot open XPS files on your Mac computer without buying software. However, you can convert it to PDF.


Step 2: Click "LOAD FILES". It is located in the center of the page, in a frame. A window will open.

Step 3: Navigate to the location where you want the XPS file (from the options on the left side of the window) and select it file.

Step 4: Click the "Select" button (or alternatively "Open"), which is blue in the lower right corner of the window. This way the file is uploaded to the XPS to PDF website.

Step 5: Click the "DOWNLOAD" button at the center of the page. This will download your file as a PDF anymore.

You may be asked to confirm the download or select the storage location before downloading the PDF.


Step 5: Open the downloaded PDF by double-clicking it.
