Two weeks ago, and specifically New Year's Eve, h Travelex fell victim ransomware attack, with the result many of its services are still out of service.
The exchange service now states that some internal ordering processes and systems have been restored and that other services will soon be available.
There is still a statement on the Travelex homepage, in which the company apologizes for its unavailable services. The statement says the problem is due to a "virus" caused by a successful ransomware attack. The ransomware that hit the company was Sodinokibi.
The ransomware, also known as Revil, entered the corporate network and proceeded encryption almost all of them files, including some customer data.
Other Travelex-based exchange services, such as Tesco Bank, HSBC, Sainsbury's Bank and Virgin Money, also face problems due to the attack on Travelex.
However, in a new statement, the company claims that it has made significant progress and restored some of its internal systems. Now, it is in the process of restoring the systems and services used by customers.
Travelex's attack and time-consuming efforts to restore the systems have caused many problems for customers, but company said that it was necessary to restore internal functions in order to be able to support partner and customer services.
The company said that services will be available soon but did not give an exact date.
