Cyber Monday, December 2, will be one of the biggest e-commerce days of the year.
This is the time many will surf on Internet looking for discounts on products.
While consumers will shop online, criminals are expected to do their own shopping, which includes your personal information and your money.
Criminals will throw it into "fishing" (phishing attacks) due to the fact that users will make online purchases. Thus, you are more likely to lose computers and steal your banking information. The hackers they will create fake websites where you think it is a website of a store you know that links to the fake site, where once you log in and type in your details it will steal sensitive personal information (eg passwords social media, credit and debit card codes)
As consumers you should take precautions before shopping online during Black Friday - and beyond - including
- control of addresses URL of the site,
- purchases from secure devices,
- search for bids on websites, not search engines
- and reviewing credit card purchase history during that period.
