Software engineer got a job at Yahoo to watch user sexual moments

An ex software engineer Yahoo has been found guilty of violating it private life users during the collaboration with the company. The engineer hacked into the accounts of thousands of Yahoo users while searching for sensitive images and videos. Federal prosecutors and court documents confirmed this.

Who is the accused?

The engineer's name is Reyes Daniel Ruiz. She is 34 years old and lives in Tracy, California. He faces five years in prison and a fine of $ 250.000. Earlier this year, in February, he was released on $ 200.000 debt.

How could he access the accounts?

US Attorney David L. Anderson confirmed in a statement that Ruiz has confessed to his crime. He used his job to gain access to Yahoo's internal systems and hack around 6.000 accounts. Many of them belong to young women, including his personal friends and colleagues.

He just got it access in their account, Ruiz would then hack iCloud, DropBox, gmail, Facebook user messages and other emails associated with the Yahoo account. She would actively seek sexual images and videos.

Soon, Yahoo realized it was a scam. However, Ruiz destroyed the computer and hard drive he was using to store the sexual content of users. The files were initially sealed and many details of the case were removed from the court file by September 30. Ruiz hacked those accounts in May and June of last year.
