The team to represent us at the European Cyber Security Challenge 2019 (ECSC '19)
30 / 9 Monday at 18: 30 in the conference room of the University of Piraeus, the official presentation of the National Team, which will compete in the large-scale European Cyber Security Challenge 2019 (ECSC '19 and 9) in Bucharest.
The competition is an initiative of the European Network and Information Security Agency ENISA (European International Agency forum Partners and Information Security), which acts as the center of expertise in matters security of the European Union networks and information.
The aim of the competition is to find, attract and promote a new generation of talent in cybersecurity through a series of demanding tests. The countries participating each year in this competitive test are represented by a single team, consisting of ten people, the coaches and the leader.
The responsibility for the Greek participation in the contest is borne by the Department of Digital Systems of the University of Piraeus. Led by Professor Christos Xenakis, a dedicated team of cyber security volunteers, they are already preparing the Greek competition for the ECSC 2019 pan-European competition, aiming for a high distinction.
After a long process of testing, the final dozen candidates will now be constituted to represent our country at the ECSC. 2019. The team is made up of 10 young people between the ages of 14-25 who stand out with their performance in EthiHak in the April qualifying competition. From then until the beginning of September, all eligible children started intensive training with live-hacking tests and training aimed at informing and practicing participants of modern threats, security gaps and the means used by hackers to bypass security systems.
This year's group is made up of ten young, professional and non-professional children, hackers, security researchers, but even students who are involved in hacking.
