KeePass 2.43 Password Manager is released

KeePass

Just yesterday, the new version of KeePass was released password manager. KeePass Password Safe 2.43 is an updated version of the popular password manager, bringing a variety of new features.

Users can download the new version from the official repository and install it on the existing version. KeePass will let users know that its new version is available, unless the update controls are off.

The application is officially available for Windows, and there are ports for use on other platforms, e.g. with Strongbox or KeePasssium at iOS or the cross-platform client KeePassXC.

One of the changes the new KeePass brings is improving the generator passwords. KeePass provides options for generating custom passwords by specifying character sets. Some of these sets only display some of the characters that KeePass can select when the set is selected. And while this is not a problem for letters or digits, it can be for special characters.

You can now hover over these sets and all will be displayed. characters that are supported in a popup.

A new intermediate step has been added to the bar that evaluates the password strength. Just open KeePass and you'll see the new bar. This bar is an estimate of the validity of the password, based on some standards.

KeePass users may change their default password options to ensure that certain rules regarding character sizes and sets are always followed.

The password manager is set to exclude itself from the Report error of Windows in this new release.

Auto-Type also received some improvements to the new version. The function sends an automated sequence of keys to any open program window. KeePass 2.43 improves the sending of modifier keys, characters that use Ctrl-Alt or AltGr and improves compatibility with the VMware Remote console and the Dameware Mini remote control.

In addition to the ones already mentioned, there is a new option that allows you to use Esc to unlock items you have selected from the main menu, linking username suggestions to displaying usernames in the main window, and improvements to auto scroll performance. .

You can view the entire KeePass 2.43 changelog here.
