Internal hard drive: The need for an average user for more storage space is constantly increasing. Whether we are talking about personal data (texts, photos, etc.) or files that are downloaded from Internet (movies, songs, etc.) or even the programs they use or the games they play.
So, after choosing which hard disk is to suit our needs and we have proceeded to purchase it, we will first have to place it inside our computer.
Where we are talking about fixed computer as long as we place the hard drive in our computer box. The new boxes now have specially designed spaces that accept extra trays and some screws are enough to make the right placement.
If the tray does not fit into the box, we will need some extra bracket to help us get the tray right.
The connection is simple. One cable sata which is responsible for data transfer and a power cable. The sata cable connects one end to the hard drive and the other to the motherboard. The power cord is taken from it power supply.
If we want to put a hard drive in laptop, then the process is a bit different.
In case our laptop does not have extra space for a second drive then we need to replace the laptop's cd-DVD with a special case that incorporates the disk on it.
The first thing we do after installing the disk properly on our machine is to check on the bios if the disc "looks".
Then, after getting into windows we go to disk management (right click on My Computer -> Manage -> Disk management) where we can now see our new album.
If it is black, we need to format it (GPT, MBR), set it a partition (size) and a letter (A, B, C) so we can see it in My Computer and start to use it.
