Sony's game developer and creator, Mark Cerny, gave some details about the new PS5 console. In one interview revealed that PS5 (not yet known as the official console name) will bring significant changes that will change forever the game experience as we know it.
What will we see on PS5?
Of course, the new console will come with several technical changes that will offer better quality. Mark Cerny spoke in some detail. For example, he said the PS5 will have an improved CPU / GPU / Ram than PS4.
“The CPU is based on AMD's third-generation Ryzen series and includes eight 7nm Zen 2 microarchitecture cores. The GPU will support ray tracing ”.
In addition, the existing PSVR headset will be compatible with the console and the console will be backwards compatible with the PS4 games as it is based on the PS4 architecture.
Another important element in the new console is an SSD special disc that will greatly improve game loading times. In a test that was done, it appeared that in PS4 the average load time was 15 seconds, while in PS5 it was less than 1 second. The reduction in loading time is impressive.
Sony has not yet announced PS5 official release date. He has, however, said he will be released in the year.
Also, for some time, the company sends devkits to developers.
Mark Cerny has provided enough details that may be useful to malicious hackers. For example, the information that PS5 is based on the PS4 architecture could jeopardize the new console as there are vulnerabilities which can be used by hackers by various known techniques.
Additionally, backward compatibility with PS4 could be exploited by hackers to attack PS5 once released.
