Steam will use Machine Learning for game suggestions

In the new year, the Valve will launch a number of upgrades to Steam PC Games. Initially, Valve will upgrade Steam's plan to synchronize with the redesign of Steam Chat, which is in progress until July, and will bring new features, such as flexible friend list and gaming friendliness.

The rest of the details are inadequate and we do not know for sure what the new proposal engine will include to improve the results of video games for gamers according to their wishes. This new feature will surely include a purchase history, but Valve said the suggestions will be based on machine-learning to make the algorithms more accurate. However, this does not mean that all proposals will be based solely on machines. Valve added that algorithms are only a small part of future solutions, and more and more "broadcasting" and "curating" features are now being built to fit the design of the shop.

As far as Steam is concerned, it is estimated to have a new system of events, which will propose tournaments, streams and weekly challenges, while Steam TV will be expanded to support all games. In addition, there will be upgrades to the Steam Trust program, making fraud even more difficult for players. This technology was first used with Counter Strike: Global Offensive but is now available for all video games.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that the company has renewed its partnership with Perfect World to bring Steam to China. Although Valve has decided not to censure controversial games in the West, some reports say SteamChina will allow specific games to be released in the country after careful scrutiny to confirm that there will be no censorship by the Chinese authorities.
