The Sun gas can affect the operation of iPhones

iPhonesIts users Apple they are not accustomed to seeing their devices freezing or disabling abruptly. However, this was exactly what happened to people who were at Morris Hospital near Chicago. The incident happened a few days ago.

Erik Wooldridge, a system specialist at the hospital, says that when installing a new GE Healthcare MRI, over 40 Apple devices, including iPhones and Apple Watches, suddenly turned off.

After publishing one post in Reddit, many Redditors assumed it could have been the result of a helium leak. Later, Erik found that the sun leak did indeed happen during the installation of the new machine.

"About 120 Liters of Liquid Slipper Leaked Over 5 Hours. The MRI room has no segregated ventilation, so it shares air with most or the whole installation, "Erik said in another post at Reddit.

After the incident, he also discovered that only the models from iPhone 6 and above and Apple Watch Zero and above were affected by the leak. Some touch screens even did not work even several days after the event.

While Apple has not commented on the issue, its operating instructions say: "Exposure to iPhone in environments with high concentrations of industrial chemicals, including the evaporation of liquid gases such as the sun, can damage or affect the functionality of the iPhone .

Surprisingly, Android devices have been unaffected by the leakage of gas. So many people wondered why iPhones are more prone to the sun?

The iFixt he searched the issue further and concluded that the sun's molecules were small enough to penetrate and debunk the MEMS timing oscillators of Apple. These are microelectronic systems that are used by telephone gyroscopes and accelerometers. Apple uses SiT512, one of the smaller, lower-power 32 kHz oscillators from SiTime.

In a conversation with iFixit, David Almoslino, CEO of Google's Corporate Marketing, said: "In gyros, the sun can lead to a shift and cause a temporary interruption of the oscillation."
