Sim swapper buys McLaren with stolen encryption

In California, the police arrested 17 in August another hacker after being accused of having made a sim hijack, and then stole crypnombs.

Xzavyer Narvaez, age-old 19, is accused of 7 crimes that he seems to have committed in cyberspace, including encryption and identity fraud. With this charge, he is the first person in the United States to blame for phone hijacking (a technique known as sim swapping) to steal Bitcoin. Earlier this month, police in Florida arrested an 25year after being blamed for theft encryption using the same technique that Narvaez used, but so far there are no hijacking phone numbers.

It seems that Narvaez has spent large sums on Bitcoin to buy sports cars. The police succeeded and found that Narvaez bought a 2018 McLaren for which he paid an amount with Bitcoin and the rest with the money he took from the sale of the Audi R8 he owned, which he bought 2017 in full Bitcoin. Through investigations carried out, within a mere 2 period, Narvaez's account transferred 157 Bitcoin, of today's worth of about one million dollars.

But how did they find him?

According to information, the AT & T mobile operator in the US has provided the authorities with information about the victims' IMEI codes and other information. Researchers identified 3 victims, one of whom last year fell victim to Narvaez and lost more than 150.000 dollars.

Through the forum, there is information that 19 was using an Instagram account (now deleted) in which he showed his new McLaren, having as a description "Live fast, die young".
