Microsoft plans to release many new features for Windows Notepad soon. While the technology giant has not renewed the application for years, the next Windows Update will contain some highly requested additional features. It is clear that the Microsoft listens to the requests of users who use the notepad to write code or to view logs.
Find and replace words will be available soon as well as zoom in zoom out using the control and mouse wheel. Also, an extended line ending support is added so there are no compatibility issues with Unix and Linux using the LF, and the CR for Macs.
Microsoft also finally adds the control + backspace function to delete the latest word that has existed for years in Microsoft Office and other free variations. There will also be an important optimization for opening and editing large files, such as a wordlist or a large Log file.
Finally, a useful feature will be introduced to allow the user to search the Bing search engine by right-clicking on a word or sentence within Notepad. The Renewal expected to be available for download later on 2018 will be named Redstone 5. However, reports have been reported that the much-anticipated tabs feature for Windows file explorer and other apps will not be released with the same update but later.
