The Adidas sportswear company announced a violation of its data last afternoon, which says it has affected Adidas US users. The company stated that the violation was perceived when on Tuesday 26 June an unauthorized user claimed to have accessed customer data to the company.
"According to an initial survey conducted, the data leaked included contact details, Usernames and encrypted passwords," a company spokesman said, adding that there is no evidence that credit card information has leaked. Adidas announced that research continues as it is entrusted to authorities and security firms.
While the number of leaked accounts has not yet been reported, news pages refer to "a few million" affected accounts.
During the same day, ironically, the company recorded a remarkable increase in its stock of 2%.
The target seems to have become the company of many kinds of attacks, as a few months ago mentioned a very well made phishing campaign against Adidas, which promised free products. Instead, users were at repeated charges, and of course without the free promising products.
