Google Assistant can make calls as a human

The digital assistant, based on Google's AI technology, is now more natural than ever in his dialogues. What's behind the new feature is a technology called Google Duplex, which the company has been developing for many years now. This technology enables Google Assistant to really help in various situations, make reservations in restaurants or make an appointment.

In case a company does not have an online reservation system, the Assistant can make a call and talk to people without any problem. All you need to do is give it the date and time.

Assistant can also add a reminder to your calendar after a successful booking so you can better plan your schedule or cancel your booking later if you change your mind.

To speak like a human, Assistant uses Google Duplex to understand complex sentences and fast speech. Ensures that what he says is clear so that the other person understands the content of the conversation.

We've been waiting for some time before Google brings this to Assistant, which will start testing later in the summer. There is room for further improvement before adding to consumer devices. During training, there are times when the Assistant, with full confidence, makes a phone call, but it is difficult when the conversation is more complicated. It has built-in self-control capability and signals its human operator when he needs to take over himself.

The reason why Google Duplex is so effective in physical conversations is because it is designed to "complete specific tasks, such as planning certain appointments."

According to Google, one of the key aspects was to restrict Duplex to closed domains. Only after rigorous training in such areas can Duplex have physical conversations. He can not make general debates in the same way.

Technology may seem useful to a simple user, but it sounds even more useful for call-based companies for appointment bookings. Every day they receive a lot of phone calls. If Google Assistant exists on the phone, it may be able to handle things more effectively.
