Microsoft Edge is one of the applications that Redmond introduces to iOS and since this is a new addition, the browser still receives several updates.
The recent update of Microsoft Edge on iOS presents a set of major enhancements including dark mode. The new theme can be activated from the settings screen, so you can try it if you want to get rid of the lighting mode.
Microsoft also says it has focused specifically on optimizing battery usage, as several testers have complained that the Edge on iOS charges the battery and causes it to overheat iPhone.
"Some of you have told us that your phone is warming up or consuming some more battery when using Edge. So we tried to make some optimizations. Let us know if you continue to experience high battery consumption, "said a company spokesman.
Note that the move left and right has improved a bit, a possibility we already find in iPhones for Safari. At the same time, we have several bug fixes.
Finally, there is support for actions and extensions of activities, such as site sharing, storage of locations in Notes, adding locations to Pocket, etc.
Microsoft Edge is available in beta for iPhones and can not be found in the App Store yet. But what you can do is sign up for the beta program using TestFlight Apple.
Undoubtedly, Microsoft Edge should not be your current browser, as it is still in a beta version. It's not yet clear when Microsoft Edge will arrive in the Apple Store and officially but this day is not long.
