Although it can work on new versions of iPhone, portable and even smart glasses, Apple has not only been the devices in recent years, but the company is also investing in many new services that could see daylight in the coming years.
One of the first to get the green light could be a video subscription service that would compete with Netflix, with an analyst showing that Apple will reveal it during 2018.
Paolo Pescatore, vice president of multimedia and media at CCS Insight, told CNBC that Apple's new video service will focus primarily on the original content that the company is able to offer, although history has shown that this is not so easy it sounds.
Apple's previous TV shows, Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke: The Series was nothing but successful, but Apple seems to look more like it content for a possible video subscription service. More recently, the company released a new television drama series with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
“Everyone is trying to get into the video area. When you look at Apple, it has a very strong hardware offering and its business services are on the way, ”the analyst said. "The real battlefield lies in the area of original content, and Apple would be very good at delivering original content," Pescatore continued.
Becoming an opponent of Netflix is not something Apple can do overnight, but it seems like a goal that company he will try.
It goes without saying that there is no official information available on such a project, but we expect more details on whether we can soon learn if Apple is interested in launching a Netflix competitor.
