Your Facebook News Feed is about to become much more colorful.Facebook updates the list of words that, when included in a status update, trigger hidden animations.
The social network has experimented with these actions for a while - you've probably seen them in posts with the words "congratulations" or "xoxo" (or some variation.) When these words are published they appear in a different color and clicking on them a short movement is triggered (balloons or hearts, for example).
Now Facebook updates the list of words that trigger these animations. Additions include the words: "rad", "bff", "lmao", and "thank you very much". All these words will come now with their own colors and movement effects.
Facebook also updates animations related to reactions to "social events" such as engagements and weddings. Now, when people add a reaction to a "social event", the reaction will come along with animated reactions that will fill the information.
Updates are the latest way Facebook turns to colorful animations to revive the News Feed. The social network is always looking for ways to enhance "authentic sharing" - posts that are real thoughts, not just republishing a meme or viral video.
Adding more animations and features like colorful status updates is one way to achieve this goal.
Either way, get ready to see a lot more animated emoji on Facebook.
