Windows 10 is rising rapidly, according to NetMarketShare statistics, in July showing an increase in market share of 0,83%.
Of course, Windows 7 is still the leader with 48,91% while Windows 8,1 is now third in rank with 6,48% mainly due to the dramatic drop of Windows XP with 6,10%.
Although they remain the top choice, Windows 7 has dropped last month from 49,04% that they had earlier, most likely due to user upgrades to Windows 10.
In turn, Windows 10 has benefited from the release of the Creators Update, which is now available for all systems that support it. Therefore, Windows 10 shows an increase from 0,02 held in June.
Of course, we do not really feel the effects of Windows XP, the fall of which is due to the recent ransomware attacks that hit them. Windows XP, if Microsoft had not released the required patches, could be at high risk, though according to experts, the main victim of the attacks was Windows 7.
Despite the security updates, users' fear of a possible hacking led them to upgrade Windows XP to supported systems. Nevertheless, the current market share of Windows XP is quite bigger than in May of 2017 operating in 5,66% of computers worldwide.
Windows 10 is likely to continue to rise in the coming months, and with the arrival of a major release very soon, Windows 7 will fall even further. Of course, there are also few users who are not yet convinced of the skills of Microsoft's latest operating system.
