As it turns out, more and more contaminated apps land on the Google Play Store despite the fact that this should be a safe place for Android users, so antivirus products or security software is at least mandatory on Google's mobile operating system.

Android

And a survey conducted by the AV-TEST Security Institute reveals the best antivirus solutions for Android, helping you decide which one to choose if you are committed to the increased data security on your phone.

Just like with Windows antivirus software, the results speak for themselves: altogether 7 different security products have the highest score, with perfect scores for performance and usability. Security products from Tencent, Symantec, Sophos, G Data, Cheetah, Bitdefender and Antiy are the ones that drive the package, while AhnLab, McAfee and Trend Micro are coming very close.

Kaspersky, which has long been one of the leading desktop and mobile security vendors, has had good results during the last round of testing, achieving a 99,8% detection rate in real-world testing and a 99,9% detection rate.

Security software manufactured by the Chinese company NSHC and named Droid-X 3 took the lowest score, with 91,9% detection rate in real word tests and 94,8% total detection rate.

ESET Mobile Security & Antivirus for Android received 5.5 units (by far 6) for protection, 6 units for usability and 1 for 1 for features, approaching the leaders in charts, but still leaving some malware samples.

In the end, choosing a strong one antivirus it should not be such a big problem, especially because no fewer than 7 different solutions received the maximum result in these tests.

But at the same time, as with Windows computers, one of the best ways to avoid malware is to always download apps from trusted sources, and while the Google Play Store is supposed to be safe, look at the number of downloads, comments users and other information that could expose an application.
