There are not many games for mobile phones that can withstand the test of time.
That's why many consider Tiny Wings, a tough but enragedly addictive game that came years before the Flappy Bird, one of the best games ever released for the iPhone. On Thursday, the developer of Tiny Wings gave his fans an early Christmas gift with the first update of the game after two years.
Even better, the information is quite important: It adds five new levels to the flight school mode, where you can compete with other birds to the end of the levels, which is so difficult that something better than the last place is considered a "victory."
Also new: an Apple TV app, which requires a separate purchase of $ 2.99. Andreas Illiger's game developer offers a preview and seems to be worth investing for hardcore fans.
Finally, updating gave the game graphics a much-needed boost that is supported by the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus high resolution screens (remember, the latest update was in August of 2014, just before iPhone 6 was released.)
Illiger released the first Tiny Wings 2011 and the application skyrocketed at the top of the App Store charts right after - and stayed there despite the rare updates. Some even argue that the lack of regular updates is also the reason the game has managed to withstand all these years. It's simple but extremely difficult to master and star a cute bird - clearly a recipe for its success in the App Store.
